The Canada Summer Jobs program helps employers create valuable summer job opportunities for full-time students aged 15 to 30 years old, while strengthening local economies and communities across Canada. This is a great way to provide value work experience to young people and contribute meaningful work to the community.
Last year over $539,000 was granted to 63 organizations in North Vancouver, creating more than 156 summer jobs and employment opportunities for students in our riding.
Service Canada is accepting applications for the 2017 program year at www.canada.ca/Canada-summer-jobs until February 3, 2017 (extended from January 20, 2017). In addition to the website, you can find information by calling 1-800-935-5555 (ATS: 1-800-926-9105) or by visiting a Service Canada centre.
When filling out your application for the Canada Summer Jobs program be sure to mention how your project and the work of your summer student will align with the priorities local to North Vancouver.
